The purpose of reviewing each game allow owners to see each teams players’ fantasy stats in one place. This should help owners get a feel for where their players are in their teams offenses, as well as provide a feel for other players that could become fantasy relevant in the near future. In the end, the fantasy spin lets you the owner evaluate players by where they should be in terms of setting positional rosters each and every week. It can also help you decide whether to go get a player off waivers, whether to try and make a trade, or whether to sit tight.

What’s left to say about the Jets at this point? It may not be the yardstick for measuring when a quarterback should be benched, but when your fantasy stats are only slightly better than they were in your bye week, something’s got to give. Mark Sanchez had one of the worst performances of his career, throwing for just 124 yards with two turnovers. And when those numbers are so slim, the receivers don’t fare well. Jeremy Kerley led all wide outs with just 57 yards. The running game didn’t do much better as Shonn Greene had just 58 yards on the ground. Sadly, the Jets’ defense was the lone bright spot, if there was one. While they gave up 363 total yards and 28 points, they did record four sacks, two turnovers, and scored the lone touchdown, proving just how anemic the offense really was.

The Seahawks dominated a struggling Jets team by taking advantage of some key turnovers and throwing in a little bit of trickery. Russell Wilson threw for just 188 yards, but had two touchdown passes, and avoided any turnovers. Sidney Rice led all receivers with 54 yards and two touchdowns. Golden Tate had 51 yards and a touchdown grab, but he also threw for 23 yards and a not-pretty-but-effective touchdown pass. Marshawn Lynch continued his strong season with 124 yards rushing and a touchdown, though he did fumble once, his first of the season. The Seahawks defense kept the Jets backed up all day long, holding them to just 185 total yards, while recording three sacks and two key turnovers.

| Cowboys DST | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 369 |
The Cowboys climbed into second place in the NFC East and have a legitimate chance of winning the division for the first time since 2009. Five of the Cowboys remaining seven games are at home. Against the Eagles, Tony Romo threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, with no turnovers. Felix Jones was effective as the no.1 running back, rushing for 71 yards, adding 22 more yards as a receiver, and catching a pass for a score. Dez Bryant played well, catching 3 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, Miles Austin finished the game with just 32 yards. Jason Witten did his job, amassing 47 receiving yards. A much criticized Cowboys DST took advantage of the shaky Eagles’ offense and put up some impressive defensive numbers: 2 sacks, one interception and three touchdowns (a pick six, a punt return and a recovered fumble in the end zone). With the Giants on the bye, the Cowboys have a great chance to move closer to the top of the division with a game against the Browns.

The Eagles are a big mess right now, having lost 5 games straight. Michael Vick (70 yards, 1 TD) was concussed and rookie Nick Foles will have to carry the team behind an offensive line that could end his career before it even begins. Against the Cowboys, the Eagles fought for two and a half quarters, but three turnovers cost them their chance at winning the game. Nick Foles made his NFL debut and threw for 219 yards, one touchdown and one interception, also fumbling once. LeSean McCoy totaled 102 yards, Jeremy Maclin 93 yards and a touchdown, and DeSean Jackson 62 yards. Riley Cooper is gradually getting back into the offense, but managed to get 24 yards and a touchdown this weekend. Neither Brent Celek and Clay Harbor dominated this game, and both finished the game with 31 and 25 yards, respectively. The Eagles DST had just three sacks. Nick Foles might spark the Eagles offense next week or the Eagles could choose to ball more. offense, but the weak offensive line could be too much for a not very could choose mobile signal-caller. But, you can never be sure with Andy Reid.

RAMS 24 (3-5-1) v. FORTY-NINERS 24 (6-2-1)

The cards were stacked against the Rams in this game. The Forty-Niners held a 50-plus point offensive advantage and a 80-plus point defensive advantage over the Rams. Plus, this was a home game for the Forty-Niners. Yet, Sam Bradford played the Forty-Niners like they were top-ten in most fantasy points allowed. It helped that Danny Amendola returned to game action. In his return, Amendola didn’t miss a beat as the Rams top wide-out while Brian Quick and Austin Pettis picked up a couple of scores. Besides Amendola, Bradford did a nice job involving seven different players in the passing game. Just when many fantasy players thought Rams Steven Jackson might be done as a dependable, every week running back, Jackson breaks out for 127 all-purpose yards and a touchdown to make him fantasy significant once again. Along with Daryl Richardson, the Rams did a number on the 49ers rush defense. Jackson will have to turn on the after-burners to post 496 yards rushing to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing, a feat he has done 7 seasons in a row, and a feat only five other players have done eight seasons in a row. The Rams DST did a great job pressuring Alex Smith, and then Colin Kaepernick. Consider Jackson, Amendola, and the Rams DST solid starts next week.

When the game clock ticked to “0:00,” a stunned look fell upon the faces of the Rams players and the 49ers players. Even though neither team lost the game, the 49ers didn’t win it as many had expected. While Alex Smith left the game due to a concussion, Colin Kaepernick did a good job, especially in the second half, tossing a TD to the resurgent Michael Crabtree. Frank Gore had a solid outing too. However, the 49ers defense faltered again and let the Rams stay in this game. The 49ers are a better team than this. Worse yet, Vernon Davis had another bad game. The 49ers should have their hands full against a Bears team that will look to bounce back against them on Monday night.

While the Texans won this game, it can hardly be said that the Texans dominated this game. Besides Arian Foster, who posted some very pedestrian numbers by his standards, the Texans were lucky to leave Soldier Field with the win. Expect the Texans to right the ship next week, against the struggling Jaguars. Consider Foster, Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and the Texans DST all solid fantasy starts next week. Owen Daniels missed this week’s game due to injury. Daniels makes for a poor play in Week 11 against the team allowing the least fantasy points to the position.

While the Bears defense did a good job keeping the score down, the unit couldn’t generate the number and the types of turnovers that have led to scores the past several weeks. Besides wide receiver Brandon Marshall, no other Bears offensive playmaker, like running back Matt Forte, did much in this game. Worse yet, quarterback Jay Cutler sustained his second concussion as a Bear, and his third concussion since playing in the NFL. More than likely, veteran Jason Campbell will get the start over Cutler in Week 11 against the 49ers. With a week’s practice, the hope is that Campbell can quickly develop some chemistry with his receivers, something Campbell was able to do when he played with both the Raiders and the Redskins. Campbell is not a fantasy football option at this time.

The Kansas City Chiefs just can’t find a way to win. After taking a lead for the first time at any point this season (you read that right), they squandered a 10-0 lead and lost in overtime. Matt Cassel had another poor outing with just 154 yards and an interception. His biggest target was tight end Tony Moeaki, who had 68 yards receiving, while Dwayne Bowe finished with 55. The Chiefs managed to run on the Steelers, totaling 142 yards on the ground, with Jamaal Charles accounting for 100 of those yards. He also ran for a touchdown. The Chiefs’ defense played well enough to win, giving up 249 yards, but with just one sack and no turnovers, the offense couldn’t capitalize.

The Steelers won the game, but it may have cost them. Ben Roethlisberger had just 84 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with a shoulder injury. It’s unknown when he’ll return, and with two of the next three games against the Ravens, it could spell trouble. Mike Wallace had the lone touchdown grab, but no receiver had more than 50 yards receiving. Tight end Heath Miller led them all with 47 yards. The revolving door of running backs landed on Jonathan Dwyer this week. Isaac Redman got the start, but after he lost a fumble in the first quarter, Dwyer took over the bulk of the carries and finished with 56 yards. The Steelers’ defense was not as dominant as other teams have been against the Chiefs this year, but they did help secure the win, holding them to 290 yards and just 13 points. They recorded two sacks and the lone interception came in overtime, giving them the field position they needed to kick the game-winning field goal.
NEXT UP: Ravens (Sunday Night)

I have issues with fantasy points being scored in overtime games. I lost my fantasy football game this week by 1 point b/c one of my opponents players went into OT and scored fantasy points. I feel that fantasy points should only be scored during regulation play of 4 quarters. Please provide me with a solution to this catastrophe.
Robert,
Have never heard of points scored in OT not being applied to a team’s fantasy points total in a game. That being said, if you are in a league where a person is the commisioner, there may be a way that is made part of the league setting. To date, TFG is not aware of that being available in any league format by a provide. If it is available, that would be great to know. Anyone aware of a league that only counts points scored in regulation? Also, typically, the rules/settings of the league are established in the pre-season, before Week 1. So, it’s not something that can be changed mid-season. Whatever your league’s settings are, they likely can’t be changed at this point.
