The Dolphins: ‘Phins Up This Off-Season

The Dolphins finished the 2012 season with a 7-9 win/loss record. Yet, the Dolphins could be a team on the cusp of turning things around! Entering free agency, the Dolphins had roughly $40-plus million in salary cap space. But, the Dolphins had seven starters that were free agents on March 12th including, among others, RB Reggie Bush, LT Jake Long, WR Brian Hartline, and DB Sean Smith. Like 2011, the Dolphins defense had its moments where it looked like one of the better defenses in the league, especially their rush defense.
