The Giants: Getting Large This Off-Season

The Giants were the dividing line between those teams that made the playoffs, and those teams that did not, being the only team to finish with a 9-7 record in 2012. Within a week of the Super Bowl, the Giants made some major roster moves by cutting veteran running back Ahmad Bradshaw and veteran defensive lineman Chris Canty. Defensive tackle Osi Umenyiroa’s contract was voided, making him an unrestricted free agent. While re-signing, restricted free agent, wide receiver Victor Cruz and restricted free agent, running back Andre Brown are top priorities, it still hasn’t happened yet. While LT Will Beatty was recently re-signed, the Giants will need to seriously consider whether Continue reading

The Rams: Getting There

(AP Photo/Gregory Payan)

The Rams came so far under new head coach Jeff Fischer whose team improved from a league worst 2-14, to a respectable 7-8-1. The Rams  not just a team on the rise, but a team being transformed. This off-season, more work remained for the Rams. Both wide receivers Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson were unrestricted free agents. It was also about time to protect Sam Bradford and improve upon a Rams rushing attack ranked nineteenth in terms of yardage. With running back Steven Jackson moving on Continue reading

The Saints: Marching On

(AP Photo/Bill Haber)

After a terrible start, the Saints salvaged their 2012 season, finishing 7-9. This was despite the fact the Saints defense was one of the league’s worst in points allowed and yards allowed (total, passing, and rushing). On defense, the Saints never quite found themselves last season. Upon being reinstated by the league, and shortly after rejoining the team, Sean Payton took immediate steps to Continue reading

The Bears: Bear Down This Off-Season

(AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

Even though the Bears finished the 2012 season with a 10-6 record, the Bears offensive line was exposed again in 2012, allowing 44 sacks, eighth most among all teams. In addition, when free agency was about to begin, there was a need at the guard position where the starting right guard, and back-up right guard and left guard are all free agents, along with the back-up right tackle. One way or another, the Bears needed to add Continue reading

The Cowboys: Trying To Be The Best Again

You don’t have to tell fans that the Cowboys were a huge disappointment yet again in 2012.  It’s the same old story. On paper, the Cowboys look like one of the most promising teams in the league, a team that should at least make the playoffs. The Cowboys could take the field tomorrow with a full roster. So, this off-season was about upgrades for the Cowboys and building quality depth. This off-season was about trying to get back to what made this team great. It’s about getting back to not only believing you’re the best, or saying you’re the best, but being the best. By David Kromelow

The 2013 NFL Draft is in the books and training camps are only three months away! This weekend you probably heard a lot of spin about certain draft picks and what they mean for all 32 teams.
