Fantasy Football Points Allowed by Offensive Position – Week 10 – QB, RB, WR, TE

As you know,The Fantasy Greek’s fantasy points allowed tool, is an average of the fantasy points allowed by a team’s defense to the other team’s position players, in this case, quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight-ends. It is intended to help you identify when your position players have a favorable fantasy football match-up versus an unfavorable fantasy football match-up.

While The Fantasy Greek preaches playing the fantasy football players with the best match-ups, don’t check your common sense at the door. Just because a player may have a better match-up does not mean you should bench your stud player. So, if Drew Brees is your QB1, do not bench him and play Blaine Gabbert.

The Fantasy Greek has also provided each team’s rank as of Week 16 in 2011, and each team’s rank as of Week 7 in 2012, for comparison purposes which could help you understand whether a team’s performance so far this season could be an anomaly or a sign that they are simply that good, or that bad.  With each passing week, you should be able to get a sense of whether there are any temporal shifts in a team’s defense of a particular position, i.e., their defense of the position has improved or gotten worse.

As the season progresses, The Fantasy Greek expects the range by position will “flatten.”  The range of most fantasy points allowed to least fantasy points allowed, from high to low should be roughly as follows by position:

Quarterbacks: 27 on the high end to 13 on the low end
Running Backs: 25 on the high end to 10 on the low end
Wide Receivers: 29 on the high end to 14 on the low end
Tight-Ends: 10 on the high end to 3 on the low end

Good luck this week!
