It’s difficult to predict how a kicker will do in any given week. The best suggestion as to kickers is to pick up a good one on a good team that gives him the opportunity to score. That said, here are five kickers that should get opportunities to score, given their match-ups. For a better idea of your kicker’s match-up, please check out The Fantasy Greek’s fantasy points allowed metric to kickers, made part of SKYBOX (Learn More Here). It tells you how many fantasy points your kicker’s opponent gives up to the position, to help you judge whether the match-up is favorable or not. And, if you are looking for links to the other Top 5 plays at the other offensive positions and defense/special teams too, here you go: QB RB WR TE DST
Justin Tucker, Ravens
The Vikings continue to bleed points. In the past six games, the unit has given up 208 points. And, things are getting worse because that’s more than half the points given up all season! The Vikings are allowing two to five field goals per game as well as two to five extra points per game.
Alex Henery, Eagles
The Eagles have ben a steady TD scoring machine that Henery hasn’t gotten as much work in the past couple of games. That should change this week in a favorable match-up against a Lions team that has been one or two in field goal points allowed for some time. Three weeks ago, the Lions allowed Steelers Shaun Suisham to post his best kicking game of the season (3 FGs, 4 XPs). Two weeks ago, Rian Lindell would have had one of his best kicking games of the season (3 FGs,3 XPs) but for two missed field goals. Henery makes for a top kicking start this week.
Dan Bailey, Cowboys
The Bears give up the fifth most points in the league (27.7 PPG). In several games this season, the Bears have allowed multiple field goals and touchdowns for extra points. Last week, Blair Walsh was three for four on field goals and two for two on extra points.
Caleb Sturgis, Dolphins
Sturgis impressed last week against the Jets, going three for four on his field goals and two for two on extra points. The Dolphins play the Steelers this week who gave up five field goals to Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. This game looks like a low scoring kickers game.
Shaun Suisham, Steelers
On the flip side, Shaun Suisham has a favorable match-up against a Dolphins team that has given up the third most field goals in the league (26). Suisham is twenty-four for twenty-six on his field goal attempts on the season.
